In addition to the water supplies we already have, there are opportunities to use other, largely untapped resources.

There are a number of potentially viable opportunities to provide additional water and benefit the environment. In particular stormwater and effluent discharges to Gulf St Vincent contain nutrients and other pollutants which are harmful to the marine environment, particularly in the sensitive but important areas around the Barker Inlet.

It is possible to utilise some of these resources and at the same time reduce impacts on the environment.
